A direct cremation is the most simple, basic service any funeral provider can offer. There will not be any visitation hours or viewing for the family. The funeral home will coordinate the transfer from the place of death to the crematory of your choice. We will file all necessary certificates and obtain the permits from the county (if necessary) to allow disposition. The crematory asks us to allow a minimum of 48 hours for the cremation process to be complete and cremated remains returned to our funeral home.
According to PA law, human remains held 24 hours beyond death shall be embalmed or sealed in a container that will not allow fumes or odors to escape or kept under refrigeration, if this does not conflict with a religious belief or medical examination. Because of this law, additional charges may apply to you total service fee if a death occurs in a hospice facility, private residence or nursing home.
This packages allows a traditional gathering of family and friends to honor the life of their loved one at our chapel, family residence, church or any acceptable place of worship. We will assist in coordinating all aspects of your celebration from printed memorials, floral arrangements, clergy services etc. Even though there will not be a casketed burial and funeral procession, we can plan to have the cremated remains interred at cemetery of your choice at a later date.
