Emma T. Cajina

Emma, age 94, of West Chester, PA, peacefully passed away on Thursday September 26, 2024 surrounded by those who she loved most. Born October 11, 1929 in Nicaragua. 

Emma Teresa Cajina, immigrated from Nicaragua in the 1970s to the United States, leaving her children in the care of her mother. She arrived in Philadelphia accompanied by her late husband Samuel Cajina. She worked in a factory to earn a living, but in 1972 returned to Nicaragua due to the earthquake, and as she had promised her children, brought them to the U.S. She loved this country so much that became a US citizen. She paved the way for many along her journey in life, especially her siblings. She was a fighter, a warrior, fierce and courageous. She had a compassionate and generous heart. She was the pillar of her children that held the family together. She is survived by Four of her six children, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and Seven great-great grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are called to visitation hours Thursday evening October 3, 2024 at the Compagnola Funeral Home 4405 N. 5th St. Philadelphia, PA, 19140. Visitation hours are set to begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 9:00 PM. 

A final visitation will be held Friday October 4, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Hugh of Cluny Roman Catholic Church 145 W. Tioga St. Philadelphia, PA, 19140. A Mass celebration will begin at 10:00 AM.

Interment will be held immediately after Mass at Greenmount Cemetery 4301 N. Front St. Philadelphia, PA, 19140.

She will be deeply missed. Her Legacy of kindness and love will continue to live and inspires all. Rest in Peace Our beautiful Mami.
