Dr. Eleanor Tiongson

Dr. Eleanor Tiongson, a dedicated medical professional and a woman of profound faith, passed away on December 27, 2024, in Media, PA. Born on November 7, 1944, in the Philippines, she carried her cultural heritage with grace throughout her life. Dr. Tiongson earned her medical degree and excelled in her career as a gynecologist in private practice, where she was known for her compassionate care and unwavering commitment to her patients.

 Eleanor got married in the Philippines to Jose Tiongson in 1969 then immigrated to Chicago USA in 1970 then moved to Philly in 1972.

Dr. Tiongson was deeply connected to her faith, being a devoted follower of the Blessed Mother. Her spiritual convictions led her to attend mass celebrations and jubilees with remarkable faithfulness, reflecting the core principles by which she lived her life.

Among her proudest accomplishments, she served as the previous president of the UST Medical Alumni Association in Philadelphia, where she left a lasting impact on the community. Recently, she demonstrated her commitment to service by volunteering in Atlantic City, assisting the less fortunate with grace and humility.

Dr. Tiongson is survived by her husband Dr. Jose Tiongson, three children Jon, Jonate and Jay, six siblings, a series of grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Their collective memories and tributes will stand as a testament to the love and devotion she fostered within her family.

Visitation services will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Parish located at 2400 N Providence Rd, Media, PA, on January 3, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on January 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will follow on January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with burial to take place immediately after at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA, at 1:00 PM.

Dr. Eleanor Tiongson will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her strong faith and generous spirit, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
