Carmen Idalia Rivera, age 82, of the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia, known for her funny, humble, and caring spirit, passed away peacefully at her residence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 8, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. Born on August 23, 1942, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Carmen’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering love for family and friends, crafting a warm and nurturing environment that drew people to her.
Carmen devoted herself wholeheartedly to her role as a homemaker, where her passions and talents flourished. She created a home filled with laughter and joy, making memories that her loved ones will cherish forever. Her caring nature and infectious humor made a significant impact on those fortunate enough to know her, fostering connections that transcended the ordinary.
The visitation services to honor Carmen’s memory will take place at Compagnola Funeral Home 4405 North 5th St., Philadelphia, PA, 19140. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on March 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A final visitation will be held Friday March 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Following the visitation, a burial will be held at Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia, starting at 12:15 PM.
