Benigno L. Lopez

Benigno L. Lopez, a cherished family man, Father and beloved member of his community, passed away on November 28, 2024 at the age of 84, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was born on June 29, 1940, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, where he cultivated the values of hard work and dedication that would carry him throughout his life.  Benigno was known for his happy demeanor, a trait that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

In addition, Benigno enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, with one of his favorite pastimes being walking. This hobby not only kept him active and healthy but also served as a time for reflection and connection with the world around him.  The legacy Benigno leaves behind is one of love, resilience, and unwavering support for his family. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Benigno Lopez, was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Providencia and Juan Lopez, sister Aida Lopez, and precious granddaughter Genessa J. Santiago. Benigno is survived by his dearest daughters Zayda Santiago, Providencia Lopez-Davis and son Benigno Lopez Jr. as well as his beloved son in laws Rafael Santiago, Robert Davis, and daughter in law Liz Lopez. Grand children: Erica and Husband, Ibn Pickens, Arianna Childs, Keila and Ben Lopez, Great grandchildren: Samiek Miller, Sebastian, Michio and Isabella Pickens, and family and friends. Benigno Lopez is loved by many and will be dearly missed. May he rest in eternal Peace. 

A visitation to honor Benigno's life will be held on December 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Compagnola Funeral Home, located at 4405-07 North 5th St., Philadelphia, PA 19140. During this time, family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life he led, and the many joyful moments shared with him.
