Angela Alicea “Jelly”

Angela Alicea “Jelly” resident of the Norris Square section of Philadelphia for over 30 years, peacefully passed away on Monday February 3, 2025, at the age of 70 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born on November 24, 1954, in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Angela was a beloved figure whose presence brought joy and laughter to all those around her.

Angela was well-known for her deep love of music, a passion that resonated with her family and friends. A humorous and humble matriarch, she embodied warmth and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Angela was a block captain for over 25 years receiving several awards for her immense work in the community. Her family was her pride, and she took great joy in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her five children: Mary, Evelyn, Linette, Christina, and Carlito. Angela was the proud grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and the cherished great-grandmother of twelve great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on through the love and memories she created with her family.

A visitation to honor Angela’s life will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, located at 1019 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123. Following the visitation, a Mass will commence at 11:00 AM, concluding at 11:45 AM. 

The burial service will take place later that day at Greenmount Cemetery, located at 4301 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19140, starting at 12:30 PM and ending at 1:00 PM.

Angela Alicea “Jelly” will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her ability to bring laughter into their lives.
